Country artist Luke Bryan is poised to cross the threshold into the next level of stardom with his current single “Country Girl (Shake it For Me).”
The song has been breaking records since its release. It debuted as a No. 1 country digital single. After notching 105,498 digital single sales, it marks the biggest digital debut in Bryan’s career. It’s also the second highest digital sales debut for a country artist this year. Written by Luke Bryan and Dallas Davidson, “Country Girl” is No. 14 on the Billboard country charts.
“We are really excited about this single, and thrilled about what it’s doing,” Bryan said in a phone interview. “I think it,s a great lead-off to the new album that we are going to release this summer, which is chock-full of great music, if I may say so myself. Seriously though, it takes a lot of time and effort in writing and recording an album, and hopefully you,ve put together something that strikes a chord with the fans and give them something they can relate to.”
Relating to his fans is something Bryan is getting pretty good at. His previous three singles — “Do I,” “Someone Else Calling You Baby” and “Rain Is A Good Thing” — have all topped the country charts at No. 1, and have had mainstream cross-over success as well.
Bryan has been nominated for Best Web Video of the Year for “It’s a Shore Thing,” and Best New Live Act at the CMT awards, scheduled for June 8.
“The CMT Awards are special because they are fan voted, and it’s a fun show to go to as well,” Bryan said.

This week, Bryan shared exclusive details to his fans first about his upcoming album through his Facebook page. During his live streaming announcement, Luke revealed the album title, its release date and performed a couple of the new album songs live “Drunk On You” and “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye.”
“Tailgates & Tanlines,” produced by Jeff Stevens, is Luke’s third studio album for Capitol Records Nashville and will be in stores Aug. 9.
“I’m so excited to be giving my fans new music!” Bryan said. “Writing and recording this project has been a blast. I feel like I continue to grow in my artistry and I hope that feeling never goes away. I think being out there on the road so much and seeing what the fans want make it much clearer for me to know what to give them. I hope they are as excited to hear it as I am to know what they think.
“‘Tailgates & Tanlines” pretty much sums up a good time and that is what I go out there every night wanting to accomplish. I want everyone that hears my music to forget about all the other things in their lives that might stress them out and just raise their hands and sing along.”
Bryan is currently out on the road with Tim McGraw on his Emotional Traffic Tour.
“It’s really been a blast out here so far,” Bryan said. “Tim’s fans are really dedicated to his music, and our styles seem to fit pretty good together. It’s like we have a lot of the same fans already. Being able to expose myself to his fans is a blessing as well. It’s a real good fit, I think, and the audiences have been pumped up and fun.”
Bryan is excited about his busy summer schedule, his career and his personal life.
“Things are really good for me now. This is a great tour for the summer, “Country Girl,” is hot and the album is coming out soon. I got a beautiful wife and two beautiful sons. I’m about as happy as a country boy from Leesburg, Georgia, can be.”
