Luke Announces Album Release Date

Earlier today, Luke Bryan shared exclusive details to his fans first about his upcoming album through his facebook page. During his live streaming announcement, Luke revealed the album title, its release date and performed a couple of the new album songs live – “Drunk On You” and “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye.”  He also revealed exclusive behind the scenes footage shot during the making of his new video “Country Girl (Shake It For Me).”

Tailgates & Tanlines, produced by Jeff Stevens, is Luke’s third studio album for Capitol Records Nashville and will be in stores everywhere on August 9.  This project is the follow up to his GOLD-certified album Doin’ My Thing, which produced three back-to-back #1 singles- “Do I,” “Rain Is A Good Thing” and “Someone Else Calling You Baby.”

“I’m so excited to be giving my fans new music!” shared Luke. “Writing and recording this project has been a blast. I feel like I continue to grow in my artistry and I hope that feeling never goes away.  I think being out there on the road so much and seeing what the fans want make it much clearer for me to know what to give them.  I hope they are as excited to hear it as I am to know what they think!  Tailgates & Tanlines pretty much sums up a good time and that is what I go out there every night wanting to accomplish!  I want everyone that hears my music to forget about all the other things in their lives that might stress them out and just raise their hands and sing along!”

The first single off Tailgates & Tanlines, “Country Girl (Shake It For Me),” (co-written with Dallas Davidson and co-produced by Mark Bright and Jeff Stevens) has become a Top 20 hit, his fastest rising single to date, and also debuted as a #1 country digital single.  The digital debut became a career-high for Luke with 105,498 in U.S. digital single sales in its first week.

Luke is currently nominated for two 2011 CMT Music Awards- Best Web Video of the Year for his video “It’s A Shore Thing” and as Best New Live Act, the Nationwide Insurance Award.   Fans can catch Luke on the road this summer on Tim McGraw’s “Emotional Traffic” tour.

Luke Appreciates “Every Little Step”

It’s a great time to be Luke Bryan.  In addition to putting the finishing touches on his third studio album, the country hit-maker is on tour with superstar Tim McGraw and he’s got another hit on his hands with “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)”, his fastest rising single to date. Since his debut album hit stores in 2007, Luke has earned many accolades including being  named 2010 ACM Top New Artist. Plus, he’s earned three consecutive No.1 singles! So what’s the secret to his success?

“The main thing is you want to grow as an artist,” Luke tells the Sioux City Journal. “You get smarter about the songs, you record in a better manner and you hopefully get better.”

“When you open for big headliners, it’s always a learning experience,” he adds. “I’ve opened for quite a few and I take a lot of mental notes, hoping to apply it to my life when the time comes.”

When he says “quite a few,” he’s definitely being modest. In just a few short years he’s toured with superstars such as Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, and Rascal Flatts (just to name a few). As his career continues to grow, Luke, like his summer tourmate McGraw, says he’s open to exploring new career paths.

“I wouldn’t mind having fun in other stuff, either,” he says. When the Sioux City Journal asked if he’d be interested in acting, he said “Maybe,” adding, “If the right thing ever presents itself, I’ll do it.”

For the time being, Luke is sticking to what he does best- country music. He has his sights set on a few goals for the future.

“Constantly sell more records. Grow toward being a headliner. Sell out huge venues. If I’m ever blessed, I can check them off my list,” he says.

“I just want to take it slow, work hard, take things as they come and appreciate every little step along the way.”
