Luke Bryan May Out-Draw Santa in Leesburg
Leesburg, GA – Santa Claus may not be the biggest star at the Leesburg Christmas parade this weekend.
Thousands are expected to turn out for the festival with Country Music star Luke Bryan leading the parade. This is the third year for the festival, and it grows each year.
The events will kick off Friday with a movie under the stars at the Lee County Parks and Recreation Field. They’ll show “The Grinch.”
If you dress as your favorite character from the movie, you could win a prize. Organizers expect more than 80 vendors, thanks to their Grand Marshal’s fame.
“We have vendors calling from around the state so I think the work of our grand marshal, I’m sure is planning a big part in that, but I’m sure we’re excited, we’re getting a lot of recognition outside of the south Georgia area so we’re expecting big things,” said Lisa Davis of the Lee County Chamber.
The festival will include live entertainment all day. Children can have breakfast with Santa at the 9th grade academy from 7:30 until the parade kicks off at 10:00.
Organizers ask that you bring an unwrapped toy or can good or a monetary donation.
